| Corporate Tax (CT) |
- The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has issued guidance on the Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP). MAP is a mechanism through which the UAE and other contracting states resolve international tax disputes that have resulted or may result in taxation not in accordance with provisions of the applicable Double Tax Agreements (DTA)
- The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued Decision No. 5 of 2025 (effective from 01 July 2025) on determining the Corporate Tax compliance requirements for unincorporated partnerships, foreign partnerships and family foundations

| Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standard (CRS) |
- MoF announced opening of reporting period for FATCA and CRS on UAE MoF FATCA CRS system, to submit annual return/nil return and the risk assessment questionnaire for the entities that meet the definition of an ‘unregulated reporting financial institution’ pertaining to the calendar year 2024 by 30 June 2025

- FTA issued decision no. 6 of 2025 (effective from 01 July 2025) on Standards, Control and Procedures for dealing with shortage within the Designated Zone due to the natural characteristics of Excise Goods

- FTA released its annual report for the year 2024 having many important data points with regards to UAE taxes

- MoF releases e-Invoicing document specifications for PINT AE billing under Peppol platform

| Economy |
- The European Union (EU) has removed the UAE from the list of “high-risk” nations for money laundering, which is considered a positive move for the UAE Economy and investment environment after the removal from the FATF grey list last year

- ZATCA extended timeline of fines waiver initiative for 6 more months up to 31st December 2025 to encourage the tax payers to complete their outstanding tax compliances without fines and penalties. This initiativecovers all types of taxes in KSA i.e., VAT, WHT, Excise Tax, Income Tax and RETT

- Oman has issued Royal Decree No. (56/2025) promulgating the Personal Income Tax (‘PIT’) Law. With this development, Oman becomes the first country in GCC region to introduce PIT regime, imposing a 5% tax rate effective from 01 January 2028
